Yea Charlie! Thanks for joining us.
Hi Guys, thanks for having me!
We are frothing on the original soundtrack you have created for the first Vonu campaign in Fiji. What was the stimulus for creating this soundtrack?
I decided to keep it quite dreamy and floating (like the ocean ha) but also have a driving beat to get you excited for a nice beeeeer.
What are the steps you go through when creating a soundtrack?
I usually try to work out what I want to achieve by experimenting a lot in my studio with different instruments and listening to a lot of music. I usually start with a chord progression and melodies come pretty quickly after that.
How long does it take you to complete a soundtrack for a project like the Vonu Fiji campaign?
Usually around 2 weeks.
What are the tools of the trade- do you play lot’s of instruments yourself in your soundtracks or are there specific computer programs you use?
For this song I thought it was cool to keep it pretty 80’s sounding so I used a lot of drum machines and older sounding synths. I mainly use a sampler to sequence my songs and then it’s all recorded onto my computer.
How did you get into making music?
I’ve been playing in bands for a long time and got way too into the process of recording every band I was in, more so than playing my instruments. It slowly just evolved from there.
What influences your music?
My environment and what I’ve been listening to in my car.
What are your plans for summer?
Heading to the UK in a month so will be freezing my ass off instead. fun fun 😐
Sounds great, enjoy.
Yew thanks guys!
